Day 4 of trying to practice using the same method Anthony Gatto did. See my forum post for details of what this involves and my rationale for wanting to do it:
I was either naïve or optimistic that I would be able to practice outside every day. By the time I had got back from Cambridge and got sorted for tutoring, it was time to tutor. By the time I was done tutoring it was distinctly dark.
Had to juggle on my landing, which is fairly decent as landings go - I can just about do 7 but can’t move forward/back or side to side much. Weirdly I can’t do 744, I guess I throw my 7s higher when doing 744 than doing 7
Warm up: Did all the moving about with a balance stuff, all three balance points. 5 balls with a balance went well today, got 50 ish catches, not clean, I dropped while trying to collect. Probably went well because my hands were warm and there wasn’t any wind blowing my balance over.
Mills warm up was good, and then 5 ball mills went ok. Maybe got over 20 catches once, not as good as yesterday
Pirouettes had to be scrapped today due to being inside.
5 ball siteswaps:
10 rounds of 744 back to pattern and then 15sh rounds to drop, kneeling down.
10 rounds of 645 back to
663 (not 633 as previous logs have said!) was ok I think, it just never feels particularly nice.
94444,97531 and (8x,4)(4,4) couldn’t be done.
753 got 10 rounds back to pattern.
Got some ok runs of both 6 ball async and 50 of sync in my allocated 2 minutes of each. Did a few kick ups to async and few transitions between sync and async.
Got 12 ish rounds of 771 back to pattern in my allocated minute (66 entry 661 exit)
Did a bit of 7, nothing spectacular, I think while I did technically have enough room it was close enough to make me think I didn’t, which made me tense up.
5 ball half shower with backcross. Landed it a fair few times. It is coming over my shoulder better today.
6 ball half shower. Threw over 80 throws I think. I recon I’ll get 100 clean soon.
Miscellaneous other stuff:
Did a bit of other random stuff to make up the time lost by pirouettes. Did some half contortionist, 5b backcrosses (2 in a row back to pattern- maybe a first?) . Tried to keep up the same 2-3 minutes per trick. Quite enjoyed this part of the session. I did some overheads too. Hopefully back outside tomorrow!
