3ball basics, 3 balls, 3bLEVEL:7, 120 minutes

Today was just...PERFECT. I started off by warming up, practicing my basic tricks i already know. Then I worked on the crossed cascade(high)which feels awkward. It's a necessary trick to learn before learning the sprung cascade. Then i worked on the N-box. I started off by practicing the 2 ball warm up, then the 3ball one. Then i tried doing one cycle of the N-box followed by the box trick. Then thats when i realized my box was okay, but it just wasn't good enough. So I took a step back and worked on the 441 HIGH, starting with 3 throws, then 6, 9, and 12. Then I worked on the shower, another necessary trick to help with the box. So i started off with 2 balls asynchronous (high, because accuracy COMES first), from the right side. Then from the left side which needs work. Then finally, i worked on 3 balls level: 7 and completed it starting from both sides!! wooo! Then I ended my session by practicing a few random hard tricks that i can't really do for the fun of it, and 2 tricks i invented and NOW finally understand.

I think i understand why my progress was slow before. I was focusing too much on ONE single task over and over again everyday. And that was the 3ball cascade high. I wasn't challenging myself with different tasks. It was just the same thing over and over again! So, in this case, i was practicing the 3ball cascade high, ingoring all the other tricks i knew how to do, expecting to get better. Today, i practiced different tricks, then tried the 3ball cascade high again and beat level: 7 in less than 10 minutes. So the bottom line is that practicing the same single task OVER and OVER again doesn't do you any good, unless you're working on alot of other tricks (along with that "single task"), that are around the same difficulty :).

Edit: Also, another important thing i learned. When you work on something, don't focus on what's going wrong, focus on how you want the trick to be done. And if your having troubles your either not ready for the trick, or you need to practice shorter runs. FOR EXAMPLE! I was working on the upside down box, but couldnt get the flash to work. i could do the 2ball warm up on each side, but not the 3ball flash. SO, i took it back a step and worked on the N-box. Then I realized my box wasn't good enough (after trying to fit in the N-box with the box, i wasn't able to keep the box going as long as i wanted to) so i worked on the box a little bit then realized that if i wanted a better box, i was gonna have to work on tricks that are necessary to perfect before the box. So i am working on perfecting the 441 at a high height. Then i'm going to learn the shower (high) starting from both sides, i'm not sure if this is necessary, though i still want to do it. Then i'm gonna work on the 2 ball (box) exercises on both sides, then the flash, then add a few cycles and so on until finally i can do the box without a problem. Then i'm gonna do what it takes to learn the N-box, then finally the upside down box. I like to think of advanced tricks as one single trick that contains all the elements acquired from other simpler tricks.
