But after reading The Rise of the New Groupthink I'm forced to think again...
I note that much of the toughest technical juggling I have seen has been on video & features a single juggler alone in a squash court. At TWJC our best technical juggler often spends time in the corner with a massive set of headphones on which serves as a neat 'do not disturb' sign. Thinking about the main hall at previous festivals I've been to I recall that headphones are quite common amongst technical jugglers.
The jugglers that cause the biggest storms are the ones who seemingly spring from nowhere, which in these days of ubiquitous internet & travel means more often than not that they've been practising in relative isolation rather than just elsewhere.
Thinking back to when I used to be dedicated, the vast majority of my juggling breakthroughs occurred in my bedroom when I was practising alone.
Perhaps I've been taken in by the, "two heads are better than one" mantra too?
