A perfect ideal best ever #jugglingstudio - what all gear, apparatus, properties should it reasonably have?
Daniel Simu - - Parent #
It should be portable, so that I can bring it around to all places in the world, and it should come with a convention switch so that when I press it all my friends appear and I can relax and watch other people pass!

But, to be more serious: Have you ever visited the Juggling Katakomben? They asked themselves that question and did it quite perfectly.
High enough, warm enough, light grey walls so white props remain visible, lights are directed upwards and reflected by the walls and ceiling, a lot of mirrors, curtains so you can seal off a part of the space for private practice, music installations, a small bar, aerial rigging space, and most importantly, in Berlin!

I just heard the sad news from the Katakomben...
So on your wishlist of perfect training spot, make sure you add:
> Not burnt down
> Not flooded

Ouch. [ Service: https://www.facebook.com/KatakombenBerlin ] - closed 3 months sounds like some damage.

You've been asking a lot about practice spaces recently... are you looking to build something for yourself?
No. That was Daniel :o]p .. :o])
'kay .. A'll help you out and put some forth, so you can say what's lacking:
indeed, i forgot curtains & mirrors

We've probably got half to two-thirds of that at Bungay. And what's missing is probably to be found in one of the sheds.
Hm. .. Looks like my question was carrying coals to Newcastle, or: props to Bungay and Katakomben, then.

As Void says, Bungay can provide items [1,3,5,6,7,8,most-of-9,10,11,12,15,18,19,20 is about a mile away,22 if camcircus can stop arguing over it,23,24,25 if you supply your own soundproof music, 29, 30]
With a bit of work, we can provide [4,13,14,17,21,28 there is a rather good bookshop about 4 miles away which has usually has some circus related gems,]
These items might be tricky [2,16,22 because I have no idea what it is,26,27]

Oh, and yes, we've got curtains and a mirror should be easy.
Mind you, I wouldn't want most of what you've listed in my ideal juggling space.
I want a solid, flat floor, a high (and level) ceiling, lots of horizontal space, good lighting, comfortable temperature and refreshments/comfy chairs in easy reach.
Bungay doesn't quite tick as many of *those* boxes.

Yes, this is a lot closer, both to a list of useful features to me, and a list of features Bungay does not satisfy!
Needn't be useful only, .. can be funstuff too. Anything at all that jugglers can fancy to really do, use, try out, .. a wishlist for stuff to add to an ideal permanent Juggling Park, or properties one wishes it to have.
(22=) any circus gear one might juggle on or from or within a.s.o. like e.g. juggle on trapeze, e.g. passing along that huge, really huge bone-shaped rotor with circular cages at its ends, .. passing to the other cage and jugglers on ground level, too, e.g. upside-down juggling hanging from strong magnetic bar or ceiling with magnetic shoes, e.g. juggling and-or passing while hanging in ropes or bungees, .. any circus gear that can be combined with juggling should bethere and available.
And I'm surprised, there's a mud-pool ([7]) - meant it amdist the gym, as a trap - you may fall into it, but not the prop :o])

You misread your own post:
> "what all gear, apparatus, properties should it reasonably have?"
Which definitely excludes #11
Yes, i read "wishfully" or "desirably".
It does say "ideal", though, (so my question is probably logically incoherent, self-contradictory - you can then answer anything), so no restrictions due to budget and-or practicability. Think of it, like, being for Dubai, then, for instance, or, .. well .. "ideal", fancied.

I'm looking forward to see how Dubai is going to help you get your own nuclear fusion generator :)

All existing and non existing aka infinite props? This would distract me from doing my juggling!
I think I don't want any of the gadgets you mentioned... Perhaps a little robot who picks up my props and hands them to me, would be nice.
Camera and analytical software would also be practical. I would turn on the projector and a delay system that shows me what I did 10 seconds ago!
Muss'a been chess-blindness (= not see the most obvious). Thanks for adding! :o)
Big space with high ceiling and nice temperature and lighting, floor not too hard (to reduce risk of damaged clubs)
A floor with LEDs or something to make it possible to program it to have different patterns (even dynamic ones), for showing your position in passing patterns. Even if you won't be able to look at the floor while passing it would help to find the starting positions, and you could ask someone or use cameras to see if you are moving the right way. (And you could look down after a drop to see if you are in the right positions.)
