Another fantastic article as usual. It's interesting how many times that style of prop has been independently re-discovered.
Great stuff David, no less than we've come to expect from you.
No mention of my sterling work with onions and ladles at last summer's Guildford food fair? It's almost as if the word didn't get out. I must have words with my publicist...
;)

I bet there's more to onion juggling than most would realise, once you start peeling back the layers
Oh my. I think it would be worth it to put together an onion juggling routine just for the chance to use that joke.

Do it! It'll have the audience in tears
Don't forget to give credit where credit's due:
"Featuring jokes from LP, Orin et alium."
I don't have any onion jokes (sorry) but I enjoyed this excerpt from Wikipedia on onions:
"The ancient Egyptians worshipped it, believing its spherical shape and concentric rings symbolized eternal life.[16] Onions were even used in Egyptian burials, as evidenced by onion traces being found in the eye sockets of Ramesses IV"
JUST FOR REFERENCE, if I die, I do not want onions put in my eye sockets, thank you.

You'd need an assistant from a Liverpudlian housing estate for the routine.
Just so you can ask the audience to welcome the scallion
