Last year I made what I still consider to be best tutorial (the passing siteswap one that appeared here yesterday) and some of the feedback was that it wasn't entertaining enough. This year, I thought, "They want entertaining? I'll give them entertaining!" but didn't really expect to win. I didn't think the Slap Chop commercial was that well known internationally, and a handful of the judges were not from the States/Canada. Apparently the video (or perhaps just the themes of an infomercial?) were more universal than I'd anticipated.

It was fun to make, and I'm happy people like it.

I realised it was a parody of something, but I didn't know what. But that didn't matter. I was going to feature on it JTV, but thought. I'd better not, as that might be biased.

The original plan was to make it all autotuney and remixed, but it got really difficult to maintain any kind of pedagogical value through that. If someone did make an autotuned version, I'd be honoured! Let me know if you want to and I'll change the copyright to allow any kind of use.
