#joug meeting

Had some unexpected jugglers today! Naomi came, and was jamming out with 5 rings and convinced me to pass the darn things, which was more fun than expected. Matt swung by, which was surprising. I think it's been about a year since he last came to JOUG! He's still got it, though, with his 3-4c tricks and 6/7b. Mariam came by, and her personal best for 3b went from 16 to over 60 catches!

More regular attendees were also there. Chloe and Zoe were passing ciao, a side-by-side pattern I taught them a few weeks back. Cameron, Andrew, and Emily also appeared briefly.

I got a few good runs of 4b dots, and my 5b siteswaps (97531, 88441, 75751) were on point. Soon* I'll be running them all, solid!

what is 4b dots?

It's my affectionate name for this family of patterns:

(I don't think the timestamp will work in embedded videos. It's the last pattern, starting at 3:05)

That is the split-synced version, but I'm also working on the "normal" synced version and the async versions. It's really hard for me to get a nice shape...hands aren't really made well for it.

Oh, and I call it dots because if I did it infinitely quickly, each ball would be an unmoving dot.
