That might be it.

Incidentally I will be losing my shoelace in January as Plusnet have informed me yesterday that they are discontinuing their dial up service. BT are being a bit more helpful this time round though & are going to be unplugging a lot of cables & plugging them back into different sockets by the sound of things & if all goes well I *might* be able to get broadband with a download speed of up to 57k in time for Christmas. Woohoo!

Wait what now? V92 has been reclassified as broadband?

Your plight boggles me. Do you have a mobile phone? Get a smartphone on a Giff Gaff contract for about a tenner a month and you can just tether to your phone for go-anywhere interwebs. There might be a data cap but it'll still be much more than you could manage on dialup. Then you can tell BT where to stick it.

That was a joke (V92 only goes up to 56k!) I should get 7-8meg. I've tried dongles from 3 different networks, there is no 3G signal in my village.
