Vipa clubs, photo enclosed - David Cain take note!

In a recent thread I mentioned my old set of Vipa clubs and also a set of miniature hand-made cork clubs. Unfortunately I have yet to uncover the homebrew cork clubs but I've found the Vipas.

There were one or two people asking whether they are the modular sort that Vipa produced briefly. Frustratingly, I don't know! The handles of all three rotate reasonably freely against the body but I am unable to discover any method of separating the two parts, and I also notice that the bulb-end screw rotates with the handle so I guess the entire handle and dowel assembly is moving as one.

The clubs are in pretty good shape considering they are likely over twenty years old, they feel surprisingly well-built and rattle-free, they are pleasant to juggle, and in my opinion they are quite nose-heavy.

Vipa clubs - OneDrive link so it won't preview, sorry.

Oooh, I'd forgotten that there was the option for ribbed handles

Those brought some long rested neurons back to life. I'd forgotten about the ribbed/transparent handles.

As far as I can remember, those aren't the modular system.

I vaguely recall the floating dowel assembly being a "selling point" as it removes the staple that joins the handle/body to the dowel which is historically a weak point for clubs.

I haven't managed to turn up any advertising material or catalogues that mention them - but the most likely suspects are all in a box of stuff that I lost several house moves ago.
