Small Talk

If it's a bit quiet today that may be because everyone is at BBU 2013, Kinetic Fire 2013, Forchheim Juggling Convention, Ann Arbor Juggling Arts Festival, 3rd Annual Sturtevant Camp Juggling Festival, Bibasse, Schokon 3, ŻeLKa, 27e Nederlandse Acrobatiekfestival or Fiesta dei Folli.

Back to Small Talk

As an alternative to the Crawley convention some of us are visiting France for Tartajongle as discussed at BJC, theres a Facebook group for the Crawley crowd open to all - http://www.facebook.com/events/313993658675644/334213209987022/?comment_id=334226289985714&ref=notif¬if_t=event_mall_reply

I hope that link works, also the convention website is at http://www.tartajongle.org if you go to the top right theres some info in English and a booking form, they have negotiated a group ferry crossing for us, Portsmouth to Le Havre and a coach transfer to the site forr £47 and the convention itself is free/pay what you can afford, they are also doing meals for €3, the location looks good with supermarket, shops etc nearby.

If your going please register ASAP as they need details to confirm the ferry bookings.

Thanks

Dave

"open to all" except those without a facebook acount. oh well!

I wonder if my van would survive a jaunt to France. Hmm...

You'd only need to get to Portsmouth as our nice french friends are making a group booking for us and arranging a coach to take us from Le Havre to site, if you go to their website and click the british flag you can register, then you need to get a cheque to them for £47 and they'll book you on the ferry (foot passenger)and take you to the site and back again afterwards.

Alternatively if things work out they'll be a few of us meeting at the Hawth Crawley, then going on to Portsmouth by convoy or possibly minibus/coach I'm sure someone can squeeze you in.

Sorry my info is only on Facebook but I dont do web design :-)

re: facebook - i believe events and stuff have a box you can tick which makes them public - so that they can be seen without logging in to facebook. That would make all the info available to everyone interested, even those who don't have a facebook account.

re: my van - if I leave it in portsmouth, I can't sleep in it :)

# by Little Paul, 2012-06-20 20:43 BST Parent

Ah thanks for that Paul, I've found it and made it public, let me know if that works.

Best give the van a service then :-)

ahh that's much better! I can see it now. Ta

Can you check the facebook link as when I click it I just go to my events. I'm up for it, but the french website. . . isn't too user friendly.

Oh bugger I was a bit worried about that link, do a search for FB event "Normandy invasion" and perhaps add Crawley to avoid the obvious war ones.
Basically the convention is free/pay what you can afford, lunch and dinner available at €3 each and breakfast also available, free camping the usual convention stuff, gala show, parade, public show, showers toilets etc nearby supermarket and shops and Saturday is market day.

The organisers have arranged a group booking from Portsmouth to Le Havre and a coach from Le Havre to site and back again for £47

EO&E As the above is from memory, but the prices are correct, get in touch if you want any further info, but I'm away for a few days so there may be a delay.

Basically, I'm up for it, but I can't find the facebook group. . .

# by oxford, 2012-06-21 18:33 BST Parent

I had difficulty finding it too. A search on Facebook doesn't seem to find it for some reason. The link that Dave gave now seems to work for me though.

buggerit, rather preoccupied myself with various things & forgot about this. I will let you know by Friday if I can make this.

# by Orinoco, 2012-06-20 21:11 BST Parent

I'm coming with one other (who speaks French).

# by peterbone, 2012-06-21 11:50 BST Parent

That's good we now have an official translator with us :-)

There's now a webpage to let you pay for your ferry crossing and coach transfer by credit card/paypal here:
http://www.tartajongle.org/spip/
once you've paid remember to fill in the registration orm (again) with your details and receipt number
