torches, 30 minutes
So, W posted this on Facebook: http://www.sciencealert.com/scientists-have-found-a-technique-that-helps-you-learn-new-skills-twice-as-fast
...which made me think that maybe I should juggle something else than my regular clubs sometimes. Also, it was grey weather, a bit chilly and I had a whole day without any plans except doing a little bit of juggling practice. And it was almost a year since I last did any fire juggling. Have not done it more than a few times either (maybe 10 times in total?) so daylight fire juggling is better than juggling in the dark for the moment.
Warm up without fire:
The same warm up that I do with clubs, except no scissor catch and no 4 object juggling (I only have 3 torches). 531 was difficult, won't be doing that with fire today. I have never done triples with fire.
First burn of the day:
Regular cascade. Was a bit surprised that this actually made me feel a little bit nervous, I mean, I know perfectly well that I can juggle a regular cascade without dropping, throwing things towards my head or catching in the wrong end.
A few tries at 42 and back to cascade, worked OK but I dropped a couple of times and I only did the 2 as a hold.
Second burn:
Pulled up the hood on my sweater to protect the hair.
Cascade felt relaxed now. Did some more 42s, a few of them with a thumb roll on the "2". Cool. Have not done that with fire before.
Crossing doubles (slow cascade) 2 throws and back to regular cascade: Some overspun throws, usually on the second double, leading to drops.
Did some chops towards the end when there was not much fire left.
Third burn:
Cascade
Chops
441
Slow cascade
Dips (3 throws and back to cascade)
...all quite relaxed, but there were a few drops.
Total practice time: 30 minutes
Location: Ute på gården
