Circus Campout is a gathering of circus artists, professionals and hobbyists, who gather for three days of workshops, shows and play. We are a community driven event where attendees are encouraged to share their skills and performances. Workshops in the past have included handstands, dance trapeze, acro yoga, juggling siteswap, fire breathing, street performing, loud whistling, know throwing...and so much more. Workshops run for three days from Friday morning until Sunday evening..
Shows:
Friday evening we gather to celebrate with our Welcome Show.
Saturday evening we invite the public out for our gala show “Circus on the Water” performed on a dock floating in the quarry. After the show the fire jam lights up.
Sunday evening we all gather in the Saloon for our Anything Goes Open Stage.
Circus Campout is a community run event. It was founded on circus folks coming together to share their knowledge, skills, efforts and love. Everyone helps out, everyone reaps the benefits. Not only does this keep camping, food, workshops…etc. reasonably priced; it truly does create community. You get an opportunity to work alongside wonderful and fascinating new people you may otherwise never have met. We ask all to help in whatever way works best for them: teach workshops, sign up for helper shifts, be generally helpful when help is needed...etc. This may entail a heavy dose of help in one area or another, or a combination of help in multiple of these areas..
There are some of you who may not be able to afford the ticket price even at its minimum. We have quite a few volunteer positions that may suite you in that case. These positions go above and beyond the amount of help we expect from the rest of the attendees. They include positions like setup and takedown crews, kitchen, cleanup and show tech help...etc. Volunteers must show up sometime Thursday for check in and a volunteer meeting. Email Katie if you are interested.
